Tissue Trimming bur is a flame shaped hard oxide zirconia point bur. It is used in the high speed hand piece at a full RPM without water coolant spray to excise and contour soft gingival tissue with very minimal bleeding.

Unlike radiosurgery or electrosurgey there is little risk of overheating the surgical site and compromising the bone.
